Thoughts & Prayers for Southwest Florida

For over 24 years my wife and I have been traveling down to the shores of Southwest Florida to a destination we called “our happy place”, Sanibel.  Nearly every year, we made the trip, and then in 2014 moved to Fort Myers to take advantage of this beautiful piece of Florida on a more regular basis.

Hurricane Ian ravaged the coast with winds over 150 miles per hour.  It tore down homes, rearranged beaches, and covered the island with surging tide waters.

We wonder, how such a harm could befall us here.  There is hope.  Neighbors helping neighbors, food and water stations coming available.  But the road to recovery will be long and slow.

We pray for all those affected.  You too can provide help.  See the links and information provided by Wink News of SW Florida.  We will always remember our “Happy Place at Sanibel”.  We look forward to the day we can return.
